Walking Distance

The motel sits on 7th Avenue (Grey Road 10), the main north-south road through Hanover. You are on the commercial fringe of the town, between Hanover and its next-door neighbor community of Walkerton. You have barely a two-minute drive to the Hanover Raceway and Playtime Casino. No wonder this place is popular with visitors when horse racing or gaming events take place there! The P & H Centre, another big local hockey/swimming hole, is also just down the road.

Directly neighboring properties are commercial—automotive businesses and open lots—but Hanover’s town center is very much within proximity. A short drive south brings you to the area of heritage downtown with the Paramount Theatre, pubs, and a mall that surprisingly turns out to be quite large for a small town like Hanover. For those more inclined toward nature, the Saugeen River runs through town with fishing and canoeing opportunities not far away. The motel is a handy spot from which to fan out wider into Grey-Bruce: Durham’s nearby waterfalls or Lake Huron’s beaches 30-40 minutes west.
